Cultural Heritage & Tourism Promotion Project

Basse has a rich cultural heritage, yet tourism remains an underdeveloped sector in the region. The Cultural Heritage & Tourism Promotion Project aims to boost tourism by preserving historical sites, promoting cultural festivals, and improving tourism infrastructure.

BAC will work to restore significant historical landmarks and establish visitor centers with guided tours. Traditional festivals and cultural events will be organized to attract both local and international visitors. The council will also develop a tourism website and social media platforms to market Basse’s unique attractions, such as its vibrant marketplaces, riverfront views, and local crafts.

Expected Impact:

  • Economic Growth: Increased tourism will create business and job opportunities.
  • Cultural Preservation: Local traditions and historical sites will be safeguarded.
  • Community Development: Tourism revenue will be reinvested in social infrastructure.

Funding Source:

  • Tourism development grants
  • Partnerships with travel agencies and hospitality businesses
  • Revenue from cultural events and heritage site admissions
